About

I come from a family where my parents can afford food and other family expenses but it is quite hard for them to pay school fees. I attend Iringa Girls Secondary School where I always lead in my class. I am very interested in studying how the economy works. Tanzania is taking big steps to grow its economy. I want to be an economist. Being sponsored by TSF help me to achieve my dream, then I can help my country people who have problems like mine. Through TSF, our life has changed for the good.

My dear student,
This school year went by so quickly. I just like to say hello to every one. Wish you have great break and wonderful holidays. Remember read your favor books during the break too. Think what is you would like to accomplish for you next school year? How are going to get there? Use this break to prepare yourself. I wish all of you had great future ahead of you. You have to work hard to get there.
In US we had Thanksgiving, now every body prepare for Christmas then will be New Year.
It is the most busy and happy time for every body. Wish see you all next August or September. Best regards,
Judy
Hi

How are you guys doing?

I understand the school semester is coming to an end very soon. Have you had a good semester? Are you looking forward to having some time off.

I have not done much since I wrote to you last time. Just the daily routine stuff. One thing I would like to mention is my volunteer work in a animal shelter. Every Monday I go to an animal shelter to take care of some dogs. This shelter has both dogs and cats. Since I am allergic to cats, I limited my work with just dogs. I take them out to walk around the neighborhood and give them many treats. Some of the dogs have been there for quite a while. I feel very bad for them. I wish I can adopt them. But I already have a dog at home. She will not be happy if I bring other dogs home. She does not want to share me with other dogs.

I am leaving for a trip to Antartica in December. I hope it will not be too cold while I am there. I will let you know how it is like there.

Hope you have a good time during your month off.

Until next time,

Indy
Hello everyone,

How are you? How was your summer? What did you do during that time?

As for me, during my break, I went with my family to visit a very special country in the Arctic Circle called Greenland. It has so many interesting facts that I thought you might enjoy hearing about its uniqueness. Greenland is a massive island located between the North Atlantic and Arctic Circle.

In Viking legend, Greenland was described as a lush, green, fertile land. Today however, ‘Whiteland’ would be a more accurate term since approximately 85 per cent of the country is covered in ice and snow. Greenland is the world's largest island with over 2 million square kilometers but it is the least densely populated territory in the world with a population of only 57,000 people.

Much of its land surface is covered in ice (imagine that!). Most of its small population lives along the ice-free, fjord-lined coast, particularly in the southwest. Its northerly position, largely above the Arctic Circle, results in natural phenomena such as summer’s midnight sun and winter’s Northern Lights.

In Greenland, the Sun does not set from May 25th to July 25th. A major part of Greenland is covered by fjords, which prevent the construction of roads. There are no roads and no railway system. All travel between towns is done by plane, boat, helicopter, snowmobile or dogsled (yes, really!).

You can learn more about Greenland by using RACHEL PI searching for it in Wikipedia.

I love Geography and I hope you enjoy learning about new countries as much I as do.

Please let me know what you will be learning next. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Jonathan Gilbert

Hi

How are you? I hope you find school fun and changellenging.

Summer is almost over here in California. It has not been a hot summer. But we have not had any rain for a few months. I am looking forward to raining season in the winter.

I have a 13 years old dog. She is a small dog, Weighs about 14 pounds. Her name is Mabel. She wakes up everyday at 6:30 am and waits patiently for us to take her out to walk. Do you like dogs?

Write back to tell me what you like to do after school.

Until next time,
Indy

Hi Girls

How is school so far? Did you have a good winter break?
It is summer in North America. So usually we would like to take summer vacations.

I just got back from my trip to Iceland. From the name of this country, you can figure out the weather there is kind of cold and it is. Because it is located very close to the Arctic circle, the days do not go dark during summer time. But in December, it is dark for about 20 hours. I was told the cows have to go inside the barn in October and have to stay inside until May. I do not think the cows are happy about that. So it is not a good place to visit in the winter.

It is called a country of fire and ice. We saw many waterfalls, glaciers, geysers and volcanos. As an animal lover, I was excited to see the bird, Puffin and the beautiful Iceland horses.

Here is the link for you to get some more information on Iceland

http://www.visiticeland.com

Iceland is very different from Tanzania. After reading it, you probably will feel very happy that you are not living in such cold climate.

Have fun studying.

Until next time

Indy
Hello,
Time has gone by so quickly! This is your last semester of O-level school and you will be taking the national exam very soon. I wish that you all could pass the national exam with scores in division I or division II, so that you can continue your education at the A-level and achieve your dreams. You still have two to three months before the exam so please work hard, try your best, and never give up. Your success means a lot to me and has given me strength and courage to continue to support students like you.
Hello,

How have you been? As another school year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on another successful academic year.
For fun, I’d like to share with you some interesting facts about a country that I visited with my family recently and liked it very much.
This nation is a mountainous island called Iceland located in the North-Atlantic ocean close by the Arctic Ocean. The name Iceland may not be all that appropriate because although 10% of Iceland is covered by glaciers, it has a surprisingly mild climate and countless geothermal hot-spots and hot springs. It was one of the last places on earth to be settled my humans. There are some fun facts about this country that I thought you might find amusing:
1) Iceland’s revenue from whale watching from tourists exceeds any income from whaling.
2) Mosquitoes do not exist in Iceland. For this reason alone, I love this country :)
3) The Icelandic police don’t carry guns. Crime in Iceland is very low and violent crime is practically nonexistent.
4) Because the country is so safe, they have not had to build more jails in years. As a result there is a waiting list up to 3 months to be admit to jail :)
5) Around 85% of Iceland's electricity and heating comes from hydroelectric power and geothermal water.
6) They are very proud to be the “greenest” country in the world with virtually no pollution.

I hope you will use Rachel-Pi to check out this country and their images.
Have a wonderful summer!

Jonathan Gilbert
Dear Sintike, I am very glad to hear that you did great job at your mock exams and score fist out 120. That Is really special. I am very proud of you.
Please keep good work. I would like to see you do very good work on your national exams. Hope you could get to Division 1 and continue your A-level study. TSF will continue support you. Hope our friendship will continue rest your life and God bless you.
Hello madam Judy,
Its my great hope that your doing well and back to me I'm doing well and I thank God I'm safe and I proceed well with My studies. I had a very marvelous break and I enjoyed a lot. I spent a lot of time with kids around our home and from them I have got a very precious hidden treasure that many parents don't realize from their children. I learnt that children cant learn by scolding them or even beating them when they do mistakes but they learn through love. so I helped them in simple tasks like escorting them to school, packing food for them, doing home works and by doing these I learnt that children are wonderful friends ever happened before what makes them to behave like how many behave is lacking supportive care from parents so as an advice to parents, they must understand that having a child is a huge decision that one must think carefully before doing so, having a baby means care and love so a parent is responsible in even knowing every breath of a child by knowing likes and dislikes of a child, personal interests on how a child likes to be handled and they must stop to misbehave in front of a child and finally keeping on mind that children are how you are, you can create a monster or an angel from them. During my break I had a little time to spend with friends so I just took care of children around me,so in short I met a new friends called children. During my holiday I cooked many foods special for my friends (children) that was Cakes, mashed potatoes, vegetable salads and many starchy foods. I was very happy since my friends were so funny and I visited their homes sharing many ideas with their parents on how to make them better society in future. I love children. sincerely, I thank the school fund for everything since I am whom they make so many things I learn from TSF and I know the pride that I will one day get rom the my entire society will be of TSF. Also I was very happy to get my mock exams results since I led in my school. I got first position out of 120 students. I think Its enough for today
have great time, Its me sintike!!

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
