About

Jennifer is a lovely girl, and very mature for her age. This is probably because she has to take charge of all the household chores. Her mother abandoned the family, leaving Jennifer with her father, an ill man, and a younger sister to look after. She has a strong character and a great will to overcome her difficulties and realize her dreams.

Hello Jennifer,

I'm proud of your ingenuity to continue your school work and assignments during this challenging time. I hope you and your family continue to be healthy.

I wish you every success and thank you so much for writing!

Debbie
Good evening. I am really grateful for all the help you're giving me. Being in lock-down has been very difficult, as I had problems with my phone and couldn't get the internet to work in our house. I talked to my teacher about it, and we managed to sort out something on my mum's phone so in the end I could follow classes on zoom. I had to hand in an assignment, which I couldn't do on the phone, so a neighbour let me use their computer and I managed to complete the work. Luckily my family and I haven't been infected by the virus and are all well. I miss my friends, and hope that next year will be better.

Padre excelled in primary school and was ranked number four in his class. However, with six children to take care of, his family struggles to make ends meet. There are very few resources at home and they often do not have enough food to feed their children. Since none of Padre’s older siblings had the opportunity to go to secondary school, he hopes to be the first in his family to graduate so that he can give back to his family and his community.
