Dear Erick. I hope that your expiry is a very long way off indeed! You certainly inspire me. In fact all Kenya's hard working students are inspiring and heroes to me as often there are so many hardships in the way of their goals, but they are not put off and keep striving with a cheerful smile.

We are looking forward to hosting the Olympic games in London in the summer, which is being held 13 miles away from where we live. I will be supporting our swimmers like Rebecca Adlington and high diver, Tom Daley. However, I have also got my Kenya flag ready to waive in support of Kenya's fantastic runners. I will be crossing fingers that they do at least as well as they did at the last Olympics in Beijing where they won 14 running medals. It must be all that ugali and greens!

Best wishes - Richard, London, England, UK
Hi Richard, just wanted to give some advice like our C.R.E teacher always tell us that we be inspired before we expire.Just wanted to give quote that says"FOCUS ON YOUR HEROES BUT NOT ON YOUR ZEROES"that is the qoute of the term.Hope you will also inpire me before I'm expired.
Hi Richard!Back again from my mid-term.I'm just cool enjoying my short holiday.Hope you and your wife Karen are enjoying life.I have to read a lot for my coming exams just immediately we open school.I must say that MANCHESTER UNITED is my best club in the English Premier League, with Wilbek & Vidic as my best players.Hope you too will tell me your best swimmers!Bye ops to see you next time.
Hi Erick ~ I am so pleased to hear that you have graduated to go on to the next step at Pumwani Secondary. I wish you a lot of luck in your studies and other activities for 2012. I hope that you are still enjoying being in the school choir. Our next door neighbour has been in our local choir for over 50 years and sometimes they perform in our church.

I love computers, photography, music with a strong beat and anything to do with Kenya. I am not that interested in football, but my wife, Karen, supports Manchester United FC. When I was at school, many years ago, I was captain of the swimming team and played lots of rugby. Do you play any sport or support any team?

We do not have any children of our own, but I have two brothers, a sister and a step-sister and between them they have eight children. I am the second born. Karen is also the second born and her brother has two children. It gives us great pleasure seeing nephews and nieces grow up and helping a number like you through their schooling in Kenya.

Best wishes for the new term - Richard

Hi Erick - I hope that life has been good for you over this last term and that you now have a well earned christmas holiday break. It is finally getting much colder here - we had our first ice on our windows this week - much later than usual. Christmas decorations are starting to be put up everywhere. Our shopping street has got lit christmas trees fixed to every lamp post, which is a wonderful sight at night. Thinking of you in warmer Kenya! All my best wishes - Richard, London, UK
Hi. Erick. It is great to hear from you. I am glad that you are enjoying life on your mid-term break and that you will in future have access to the internet at school for journals. I have been thinking of you as, last Saturday, our church had a visit from some Osiligi Maasai Warriors. There were seven men and women on a tour of Scotland and England and they sang and danced for us in order to raise funds for their village of Kisamis, 30 miles south-west of Nairobi. They have done similar tours for a number of years, but this is the first time that we have seen them perform. it was a very enjoyable performance. We bought some colourful bead craft necklaces that they were selling, and these are now hanging on my study wall to remind me of Kenya. My best wishes for your ongoing studies in the 2nd half of term. Richard

JAMBO .Federco.I hope you are doing well and enjoying the good life in London. I am very fine here in Kenya enjoying life in Kenya with my family members. I am really working hard at my school to attain the best grades. I did my end of term two exams and managed to get a grade of B+ making me position 3 out of 167 students in the school. I hope that you too work hard? Hope to see you when you come to Kenya one of this days. BYE.
Jambo Erick. Another boost to your school fund, with my best wishes. I hope that everything is still going well for you at school and the choir. I was listening to some Kenyan music recently - a group called Kenge Kenge - their name means "fusion of small, exhilarating instruments". Very enjoyable - they use traditional instruments such as the Nyatiti lyre, Bul drums, the Nyangile sound box, Ongeng’o metal rings, Asili flute, and the Oporo horn. Richard
Jambo Erick. Well done for making the most of your time in school and getting involved in other activities. I hope the choir is fun. I enjoy Kenyan Ohangla music.
Richard

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
