About

Class Rank: 1/88 The most difficult time I experienced is when my father passed away in an accident. After I lost my father, I realize that my happiest time is when I can be with my family members. I was proud of myself when I learned I scored grade A in my Standard 7 National Exam. The dream I have is to become an engineer. In order for me to become an engineer, I will make sure I study hard and pass all the exams. I want to be a civil engineer responsible for construction. I want to solve problems in infrastructures like roads and railways. The School Fund is a foundation that supports poor students like myself by providing me an opportunity to proceed with higher education. If my dream comes true I will donate part of my salary to the School Fund. I want to make sure the School Fund really grow continuously and support more needy students.

Hello Jonathan...
i am quite hoping that you are hundred percent fine.I am also fine. You know what??I got an interest on your good post about 15 life lessons. They looked so teaching to my life and i had a belief on life that to be kin is much needed because what is much concerned in life is to know how to leave with people. If something become an obstacle unto your proper goings,GOD and your fellow around should act as first help so it is more important to leave peacefully with fellows and it is what am trying to do at school too i.e living cooperatively with others. That is little i can share with you today,i do hope that i shall be able to post another post soon.I wish you best moments ever.
It is me,Lidya.

Hello students,

I finally got back to the US last week.
It has been a very long trip to Tanzania this year total three weeks.

I was very happy to meet all of you and know everyone better.

My trip started from Karatu. I visited 5 schools in Karatu and I learn where do you go to school every day.

I am very happy to know all of you are doing well and every of you has a dream that you want to be successful one day. I encourage all of you to try your best to reach you own destination.

The get together was so well prepared and done by each of you. I am very happy to saw all your science presentations and poems you wrote to TSF and me. I will treasure them all my life.

I can say I am very proud to all of you. Keep up the good work I want to see each of you one day get to
good University/College to reach your own dream.

After Karatu, I went to ARUSHA attended the TED Global conference and visited couple schools in ARUSHA.
I enjoyed the TED conference this year. It was focused on the Africa, specially in agriculture, health and education.

Mr. Amos was a volunteer there, he had great experience being this Global conference and met people from around the world.
He had a life experience at the conference, where he was able to meet a group of bright inventive and talented group of people.

Later I went to Iringa. Iringa almost the second hometown for me. I have been there six times.
I visited all 8 schools in Iringa and meet all of you in person. I was very happy to meet you.

I had a great time at the get together party. All of you did a wonderful presentation. I am very happy to know all of you had fun that night.

My this year Tanzania trip was set MMM computer center for most of the 13 TSF schools.
At Iringa, We build total 5 new computer center in Iringa girls, Klerruu, Lugalo, Ebenezer, Miyomgoni and Update one MMM center at Ummusalama. We build one new computer center at Karatu Secondary School and update one MMM center at Ganako.

I am very proud of building the MMM computer center in most of the TSF schools. I really want all of you to go to the computer center to learn every subject you are interested from the RACHEL PLUS.
In the future everyone work will be on the computer. I hope that every single of you tell me what do you learn from the RACHEL PLUS.
I would like you could to start the debate team in your school so you all could practice how to speak in the public. Have the Math Club and challenge each other on the Math.

They will all benefit your long-term confidence.

I hope I will hear from all of you soon.
Dear Students,

I ran across a very interesting article about 15 life lessons. I like it a lot and thought that you might enjoy reading it also. So here it is ..

15 Life Lessons people most often learn too late in Life

1. Never compare your weaknesses to other people's strengths.
2. Own your life, or someone will own it for you.
3. We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.
4. If you accept your limitations, you go beyond them.
5. Comfort is the enemy of achievement.
6. No matter anyone says to you, you don't have to eat dinner with them, live with them or go to bed with them.
7. If you risk nothing, you risk everything.
8. Don't give others the power to control your emotions. Those are only yours and it is only for you to manipulate.
9. Victory introduces you to the world, but defeat introduces the world to you.
10. If you don't do stupid things while you are young, you will have nothing to smile about when you are old.
11. Don't waste your time with an explanation; people only hear what they want to hear.
12. Don't rest after your first victory, because if you fail the second time, more lips will be waiting to say that your first victory was just luck.
13. Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves.
14. The person that you will spend the most time with in your life is yourself, so better try to make yourself as interesting as possible.
15. The only person you can trust fully is You.
Nobody is going to stay forever.
Social media friends can like but will not likely be there for you.

Best,
Jonathan Gilbert

Hi School Fund student

How are you? How is the new school year so far?

Do you have pets? Do you love animals? I do. I am a devoted animal person. I have a 14 years old dog. Her name is Mabel. We have had her since she was 7 years old. Prior to that she lived with my daughter. My daughter was too busy to take care of her. So the dog came to live with us. She brought a lot of happiness to my husband and myself.

I have been volunteering to a cat rescue group since 2009. Because I am allergic to cats (cats make me sneeze), I cannot involve in taking care of the cats. I can only answer phone calls for this group. People will call us when they want to adopt a cat, or they need to surrender the cat When they can no longer take care of them. They also call us when they find an abandoned cat. This cat group is in Massachusetts. The winter is very cold there. The temperature can drop down below zero degree. The abandoned cat cannot survive in such cold weather. We will go and rescue these cats. We also help people to find their lost cat. I enjoy working with the volunteers in his group. They are very nice and so dedicated to helping those cats in need.

I hope you have fun studying for the school work. I will write to you next month.

Please write back.

Until next time,
Indy

My fellow students, time just flew so fast. This semester is close to its end. You all must be very busy preparing for your final exams.

I hope you are all doing a great job this semester. Some of you graduated at end of the last year. You must very anxious waiting for your notification which A-level school you are assigned to.

The things your did which will make me so proud of you and encourage me to continue to support you for your future school years. My goal for all of you, one day for your to go to College/University, You are somebody everybody will proud of you.

The way to do is that you set your final goal, the goal between one step a time and try reach it then go for the next goal, eventually, you will reach your final destination.

Hi Student

Are you ready for your school break? When I was at school, I cannot wait to have my summer and winter breaks.

I did a bit traveling last month. I took a cruise trip to cross the Atlantic Ocean. I boarded the ship in Miami. It took seven days to cross the Atlantic Ocean, the first stop is at Canary Islands. It is part of Spain. The crossing was pretty smooth. I only had one rough sea day. It was nice to get off the boat and touched the land. Eventually we visit three other cities in Spain, Malaga, Catagena and Barcelona. Basically the boat sailed along the northern end of the Middertarian sea. Later we also visited Nice, which is in France, and Florence, which is in Italy. Finally we got off in Roma. Have you heard of these places? Maybe you can use the Internet to google these places. The whole trip lasted 17 days. I am very happy to return home after this long period of time. Nothing compares to home. Don't you agree?

What is the plan for the school break? Please write back to me and let me know.

Until next time,
Indy

Dear Young Ladies of Iringa School,

It has been a long time since I wrote to you. I hope that you are in good health, and that your studies are going well.

Your mid-term exams were just last month, how did you do?

I would like to hear from you, to learn what you are doing and thinking and how your families and friends are.

What are you learning in school now?

As for me my life is busy with work and family. My son and his girlfriend are getting married soon, and just recently I have been helping them set up their new apartment.

As always I am reading a lot of interesting books and articles; this week I have been reading about the discoveries and photos coming in from a spacecraft that has been circling the planet Jupiter, there is a giant hurricane on the planet with winds up to 1609 km per hour.

I look forward to reading your new journal posts.
Be well,
Karen

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
