About

Class Rank: 1/138 The most difficult experience I had early in life is when I failed my mathematics exams. From that failure, I learned that I have to take school seriously. So from that time on, I always study hard and do well in all the exams. My dream is to become a good accountant. I will have a well pay salary and hence the ability to help other people who surfer with daily life like me. The moment when I felt especially proud of myself is when I scored the top in my studies at school and when I past well in class seven examination. I love to go to school, I thank the School Fund for paying my education. I also feel very lucky and happy to be able to live with my parents. After I become an accountant, I plan to give back to the community by building a school for those children who live in hard life. I will give some amount of money to the School Fund to buy books. I thank the School Fund, I'll pray for them to God.

Hello Students,

My name is Karen and I live in the Bay Area of California U.S.A., and I work with Miss Judy on the School Fund Journal.

Judy is away visiting Canada and she asked me to write you to say hello, and say that I hope you will write me back to tell me about how are you doing in school, what classes or special topics are most interesting to you, what you are reading, what do you do for sports? Have you been able to use Raspberry Pi in your studies?

Really I would just like to hear from you. To learn something about your life and who you are.

Be well,
Karen
Dear students:

Welcome to TSFTZ family!

My name is Jenny Chen, I am a retired software engineer. I work for TSFTZ as a volunteer staff. In 1976 I came to United States from Taiwan to study Math. I live in San Francisco area most of the time with my grownup children close by. However I travel back to Taiwan very often since most of my family members are still there.

Education helps me achieve my current good living standard. I echo TSF’s motto: “Education is an investment in the future”. Our team is devoted to help school-aged children stay in school, especially girls’ education. We encourage our students to write to us so we get to know each other better. We read each journal entry enthusiastically and response accordingly because we CARE.

TSFTZ team expects each sponsored student study hard and be successful! It is my privilege to write to you. I am looking forward to work with you.

-Jenny

Hello Everyone,

As a year comes to close, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I am very proud of each of you knowing that you have worked hard to achieve academic success despite under difficult circumstances.

You inspire me greatly and are an example of what hard work and determination can bring to one’s future.

We have worked hard in the US to raise money for your education, and nothing would make me happier seeing you take full advantage of the scholarship from The School Fund to fulfill your educational dreams in the future, whatever profession or objective that may be.

Study hard and make your dreams come true. Have a fantastic 2016!

Your friend,
Jonathan G.
Dear Edson,
I am so excited to learn that you like puzzles too! I started to play it with my sons when they were at grade school. Now I am the only one who keeps on playing it when I have spare time. Even with the old set, it is still fun! I only do the 2D puzzle, 3D is too challenge for me. Have you tried 3D puzzle?
As for Sudoku, it has variant version also. I tried them sometimes, but still fall back to the traditional one. One reason keeps me going is to make my brain active. I have heard so many cases of people getting dementia when aging. I certainly don't want that happens to me.
-Jenny
Dear Jenny,
Oh so and you celebrates it the same day like us.I'm very glad to hear that you like gardening like I.About Sudoku i know it very well me to i like playing it during my free time. But some times i like to play Puzzle.Do you know Puzzle?.It's a wonderful game that why i like it.
Dear Edson,
Labor Day in America falls on the 1st Monday of September, however in Taiwan we have it on the 1st of May just like yours.
In my free time I used to do cross stitching and gardening. However I do very little cross stitching recently because my eyes are not that good anymore. Now I do Sudoku very often. Do you know Sudoku? It is a logic based number placement puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9x9 grid with digits so that each row, each column and each of the nine 3x3 sub-grids that composed the grid contains all the digits from 1 to 9. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid, which for a well-posed puzzle has a unique solution. It has various difficulty levels, challenging and fun.

Dear Jenny,
Its good that you have received my post and replied it.Thanks for your congratulations. As i like playing football, what do you like doing during your free time?I also appreciate for the Rachel P.I system here at our MMM center,it is very helpful to us.I'm glad that on September 28 you celebrate the greatest Chinese philosopher and the teachers day back to us we do not have this kind of celebration but we do have the workers day where we include the teachers day in it.It is celebrated on May 1,do you also have a workers day?I hope to hear from you soon,
Yours Edson.

Thanks,Edson
Hi Edson,
I hope you are going on well with your studies.
I have donated some money into your School fees account. I did this because during my interview with you I found out that you are very passionate towards achieving your dream. Please work hard in your studies so that you can utilize this privilege wisely. Remember opportunity comes to you once and it has wings. When you play around it flies a way and never comes back.
Best Regards,
Amos
Dear Edson,
I am happy to receive your journal entry too. Class rank number one shows how much you focus on your studying. TSFTZ members are all proud of you. It is good to know that you played balls and had a lot of fun during your school break. When you study, you study hard! When you play, you play hard! What a balance life you have!
As Judy said, the MMM center will be open most of the time for students to utilize the facility. Please take advantage of the powerful Rachel PI system.
September 28 is the birthday of the greatest Chinese philosopher/educator Confucius. It is also the Teacher's day, the day we show our respect to our teachers. Do you have a similar day like this?
-Jenny
It is nice to see most of you already went to the computer center to update your journal. I know all of you had a great break. It is already half way on in your second semester. Two more months before this school year is going to end. I wish you all to try your best. I know you all can do it.

In your summer assignment you wrote that you will study hard so you could reach your dream. It is true that your future is in your own hands, and your own destination is how you are going to work on your goals and reach them. People could recommend that you do some things and they can help you in some way, but you are the only person that can make the your dream come true. Any step you take, you are one step close to your dream. I want to see you all work hard to reach your next destination.

As the people who fund your education we want to know you. The only way we have to know you are through your journals.

Please write in your journal, so that we can know you better. You can write about your daily life, your school, your friends, what subjects you are studying now. What is your favorite subject and why do you like it, and so on. We want to know your hopes and dreams. Or write us anything at all that you want us to know about.

I want you all to be outstanding people in my mind, each of you separate and special. If you are just a name in a group, there is no way for me to know you.

I know some of you are going to have your National Exam. I pray for you and wish you the best.
When I was your age. I was the same as you.. I worked for everything I needed and wanted.
I never gave up. I knew if I just tried hard and never lost my hope that I would make it.

I did talk to Mr. Amos, and Mr. Paulo, they said MMM center (computer center) will be open any time. You can drop by to study the subject you are interested in from the RACHEL PI.

Everybody can be successful if they are self learners. The more knowledge you have the more successful you will be. Everything on this earth comes and goes, only an Education will be with you and nobody can take it away from you.
Hi Judy.
I'm also glad for your help in paying school fees for me so that i can continue with my education.I'm keeping it up and i hope one day i can reach my dream just like your son , also i would like to know which classes did your son graduate in university, what kind of job he is doing now? and the name of the university he graduated?
thank you.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
