About

Class Rank: The most difficult experience in my early life is when one boy lied to my mother. He told my mother that I have many boy friends in and out of school. My mother was very angry at me initially. But after l explained to her it was not true, she understood. From that experience I learnt not trust all people, because they can tell lies and hurt our feelings. My dream is to be a good international pilot of Tanzania and other countries. I study extra hard on the science subjects and English. The moment I was proud of myself was the day that I passed my final primary exams. I am always happy when I perform well in my exams. I will give back to the community by contributing some money to the School Fund so that more children can get education.

Hi

My name is Indy Ting. I am very happy that Judy asks me to write to you and to become a friend to you.

First, Let me introduce myself to you. After working in the computer industry for many years, I retired about 7 years ago. I and my husband moved to San Fransco area about two years ago. I have two grown up daughters who live in New York City. I do not get to see them often. Right now I have a dog that lives with us. She is a very cute dog. My husband and I enjoy taking her for a walk everyday.

How is school these days? I missed my school days. Mathematics and writing were my favorite subject. What subject do you like.

My husband and I spend a month in Botswana and Keyna in 2015. It was an amazing experience for us. Hopefully we can go back to visit again.

Please write back to me. I am very interested to know what you are doing and what you life is like at school. Or you can ask me questions, any kind of questions.

Looking forward to hearing fro you.

Indy
Hi students,

I think I should introduce myself to you first. My name is Ying and I live in Taiwan now. For the past five years, I was in California and joined the TSF. I am glad that I can meet you here, read your story, and write journals to you.

I am a mother of a four-year-old son. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my family and my friends. I like to read novels as well.

I will keep writing journals to you and you are welcome to write to me anytime. I hope you all enjoy your new semester.

Best Regards,
Ying
Hi students,

Your new semester has started for a couple weeks and I hope you all enjoy it.

Do you have any plans or wishes in the new semester? Please write them down in your journals. For example, you can say....I want to be the top three students in my class....I want to help my friends.....or I want to read three books about biology(if you are interested in biology)

Every month, we can review the progress of your plan and try to make it work.

I hope you all have a wonderful semester and your plans will work out and dreams will come true.

Best Regards,
Ying
Hello,

How have you been? As another school year comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on another successful academic year.
For fun, I’d like to share with you some interesting facts about a country that I visited with my family recently and liked it very much.
This nation is a mountainous island called Iceland located in the North-Atlantic ocean close by the Arctic Ocean. The name Iceland may not be all that appropriate because although 10% of Iceland is covered by glaciers, it has a surprisingly mild climate and countless geothermal hot-spots and hot springs. It was one of the last places on earth to be settled my humans. There are some fun facts about this country that I thought you might find amusing:
1) Iceland’s revenue from whale watching from tourists exceeds any income from whaling.
2) Mosquitoes do not exist in Iceland. For this reason alone, I love this country :)
3) The Icelandic police don’t carry guns. Crime in Iceland is very low and violent crime is practically nonexistent.
4) Because the country is so safe, they have not had to build more jails in years. As a result there is a waiting list up to 3 months to be admit to jail :)
5) Around 85% of Iceland's electricity and heating comes from hydroelectric power and geothermal water.
6) They are very proud to be the “greenest” country in the world with virtually no pollution.

I hope you will use Rachel-Pi to check out this country and their images.
Have a wonderful summer!

Jonathan Gilbert

Hey Sharifa,

How are you doing? Have you started training to become an international pilot yet? It seems like a really cool job, but what are your reasons for choosing it as your goal? Other than that, what jobs would you like to have? Ryan wants to become a scientist, but he’s not sure what type yet. Arik would love to be an entrepreneur fosr a technology company, and Alana wants to some sort of scientist or some sort of artist. What are you doing right now? How close are you to becoming an international pilot of Tanzania? Keep us informed! We look forward to talk to you again.

Your buddies,
Ryan, Alana and Arik

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
