Class Rank: 4/244 The most difficult experience I had is my mother borrowed money after she lost her job. Unfortunately later she was not able to pay back the high interest loan. The whole family suffered a lot. That is why after I grow up I want to be a Banker. So poor people can borrow money from me without hardship. In order to reach my dream I need to study hard, especially in Math subject. The moment when I felt especially proud of myself is when I performed well in my exams. The happiest moment in my life is when I scored the 4th highest in my primary school test. That is my best record. After I fulfill my dream, my plan is to help people in my community with their money issues. I plan to contribute portion of my banker's salary to the School Fund so it can pay school fees for other needy students.

Hi School Fund Students

Sorry it took me a while to write to you. For those of you who is receiving my journal the first time, let me introduce myself.

My name is Indy. I am currently living at the same town as Ms Judy. She and I went to high school together. I am so happy to have this opportunity to get to know you.

I used to work with computers for many many years. Do you like to use computers?

Yesterday I met with some of my old school friends for lunch. These are the friends I have for almost 50 years. We talked about our school days when we were 12 years old.
It brought many happy memories.

Do you enjoy your school? Now is the time to form good friendship with your classmates? What do you do with your classmates? Do you study together? Do you talk and share secrets? I know you have a lot of study to do. Hopefully you can find some time to do some fun stuff with your friends.

Hello Samwel. Thank you for your journal.it is really look nice and i will be making review especially.
Reforestation is the planting of trees on land that previously had a forest.
Control of bush fires:When open grassland are burnt the soil is directly exposed to agents of erosion.
Controlled open grazing:Overgrazing which is another cause of soil erosion should be avoided by mulching the number of livestock kept on any piece of land.
Erecting brushwood barriers:On land where gullies have developed, barriers of brushwood or even stone walls can be constructed across the gullies to help trap the soil.
Construction of cut-off drains:Cutoff drains are open trenches which are dug across the slope and soil is heaped on their down – slope sides to form a kind of ridges. These drains prevent large amount of water that might have resulted in formation of rill, gully and sheet erosion from down the slope.
Constructing of dams and weirs:These are structure that are built across river’s valley for the purpose of controlling a river flow or for retaining water in a large reservoir within the valley. They may be made of earth’s (earth dam) and stone (rock fill dam).
Use of artificial waterways:An artificial waterway is a small channel that is constructed down a slope and into which surface run-off collects. Normally water from cut-off drains as well as from terraces should be discharged into rivers or into non-erodible areas such as stony grounds...

Well the word SUCCESS means a lot to me. Today i am looking at the past days and thinking what have i achieved and what not. The journey of life has been a real tough for me since so many years. Now i am 17 and i have to work hard and prove to myself that i can do it. No matter what huddle i come across. This blog begins with a word called success. So lets speak about success.
SUCCESS can be defined in so many ways, but i want to name it in my own way, were in a living being wants to achieve in the life span. Every individual can give their own opinion about the word SUCCESS, but i am sure it would be entirely different among each individual. So said there are different ways to define SUCCESS.
The word GOAL is some or the other way related to the word SUCCESS if i am not wrong. Speaking about the common human being everyone wants to be a successful person. Come on now in the world there are three kinds of people. RICH, MIDDLE CLASS & POOR. But in these three categories i am sure every one would be thinking about this SUCCESS one or the other day, only because they want to achieve somethings in their life just for their personal satisfaction.
Well coming to the point everyone might be thinking why i am speaking about SUCCESS in this way. So now let me tell you the story about SUCCESS. One of my friend shared to me that he was having a debate with his friends on the word called GREED. And while discussing the topic even SUCCESS was the topic in between the topic because earlier i have mentioned GOAL and even goal is a part of this SUCCESS. The discussion went around for an hour but was no end for the topic. So my point of view is to achieve SUCCESS. every individual has to tackle so many things in their life. life is not easy that's what i feel now. The competition has begun long ago and to be a successful person you have to be strong enough to tackle all the things what so ever come across your way.
I felt to write this journal because so many people speak about SUCCESS but people from outside say that i am a successful person but they themselves know what they have left behind to achieve this success or may not.
Well lot more to discuss about this word but before that there is a Saying Life is a Race run for it. In the same way every one has to run for the success. life is not easy now a days and it has become more tougher than previous days.

The following are the some of the central measures that can be taken to control erosion:

Surveying is the science of measuring and record distances, angles and heights on the Earth’s surface to obtain data from which accurate plans and maps are made.
Surveying is also the art and science of making or taking measurements both linear and angular on the Earth’s surface at different positions for the purpose of producing a plan or map.
Angular measurementmeans measuring the distance from a given reference point to an observed object. The distance is measured in a clockwise direction from North.
Linear measurementis the distance measured along the surface of the ground such as a horizontal distance.

Bar graphs
A bar graph is also called bar chart or columnar graph. This method is used to present data which are not continuous. This means that in a bar graph there is no relationship between or among data.
Bar graphs emphasize individual amounts and their relative variations. When drawing such graphs, bar width in a graph is kept constant while bar lengths change in size as per the amount of the independent variable in question.
Though the bars can also be drawn horizontally, they are usually drawn vertically. The bars should be separated from one another by a space.

Types of bar graphs:
+ Simple bar graphs
+ Group or comparative bar graphs
+ Compound bar graphs
+ Divergent bar graphs

>Simple bar graph
A simple bar graph is drawn to show a single item per bar. It mainly represents simple data.
>A comparative bar graph
A comparative bar graph consists of several bars drawn side by side on the same chart for the purpose of comparison. The technique involves grouping of bars in a chart. The graph can be used to show how production of certain commodities varies each year.
>Compound (divided) bar graph
This is a method of data presentation that involves construction of bars which are divided into segments to show both the individual and cumulative values of items. The length of each segment represents the contribution of an individual item in the total length while that of the whole bar represents the total (cumulative) value of the different items in each group.
>Divergent bar graph
A divergent bar graph is a graph which shows the fluctuation of individual items from the mean.

A variable is anything or characteristic that data may have, or an attribute which changes in value under given conditions. Variables include population size, age, sex, altitude, temperature and time.

There two broad types of variables, namely, independent and dependent variables.
An independent variable is a variable factor which influences the changes of other variables or outcomes. The independent variable is also known as manipulated variable. This is the factor manipulated (controlled) by the researcher, and it produces one or more results known as dependent variables. There may be more than several dependent variables, because manipulating the independent variables can influence many different things. For example, an experiment to test the effects of a certain fertilizer, upon plant growth, could measure height, number of fruits, and the average weight of the fruits produced. All these are varied analyzed factors, arising from the manipulation of one independent variable, the amount of fertilizer.
A dependent variable is an outcome or result that has been influenced by other variables. A dependent variable does not influence or change other variables. The dependent variable responds to independent variable. It is called dependent because it “depends” on the independent variable. In any research, you cannot have a dependent variable without an independent variable. Any alteration in the independent variable will change the dependent variable.For example, you might be interested to carry out an experiment to determine the influence of the concentration of phosphorus fertilizer on maize growth. To conduct this experiment, you grow maize in similar conditions of soil and atmospheric environment but vary the quantity of fertilizer in each test (independent variable). Then you measure the height of maize plants (dependent valuable) after a certain interval of time to find out the influence of the fertilizer on maize growth. The value of the height you will obtain will obviously depend on the amount (concentration) of the fertilizer applied. And, in this case, you will obviously get different heights depending on the quantity of fertilizer applied.

Statistics is the study of collection, analysis, interpretation, presentation, and organization of data. Data refers to crude or uninterrupted information.
In applying statistics to, for example, a scientific, industrial, or societal problem, it is necessary to begin with a population or process to be studied. Populations can be diverse topics such as "all persons living in a country" or "every household in a village". It deals with all aspects of data including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experiments.

Types of statistics
Two main statistical methodologies are used in data analysis, namely, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
Descriptive statistics summarizes data from a large sample using indexes such as the mean or standard deviation. Descriptive statistics are distinguished from inferential statistics (or inductive statistics), in that descriptive statistics aim to summarize a sample, rather than use the data to learn about the population that the sample of data is thought to represent.
Inferential statistics draws conclusions from data that are subject to random variation (e.g., observational errors, sampling variation). Descriptive statistics are most often concerned with two sets of properties of a distribution (sample or population): (i) Central tendency (or location) – this seeks to characterize the distribution's central or typical value. (ii) Dispersion (or variability) – this characterizes the extent to which members of the distribution depart from its centre and each other.

These are molecules which escape into the atmosphere after liquids are heated.
When a liquid is heated strongly then molecules tends to escape ( those molecules are called vapour).
Most liquids evaporates at any temperature however liquids may vary in the rate at which they evaporate at ordinary temperature.
Alcohol and ether evaporate rapidly but lubricating oil and mercury hardly evaporate.
Evaporation of a liquids result in the formation of vapour.

There are several factors which affect evaporation of liquids when heated which include the following:
Nature of the liquid: Normally liquids evaporation differs depending on the nature of liquid. Example; Volatile liquids evaporate faster than non-volatile liquids, which evaporate slowly. Alcohol evaporates faster than other liquids like water. The boiling point of alcohol is 780C while that of water is 100oC.
Pressure above the liquid (atmospheric pressure): When the atmospheric pressure is high, the rate of evaporation may be reduced.
Surface energy of the liquid: This forms a boundary or skin between the liquid and the atmosphere. The surface energy prevents molecules with lower kinetic energy from escaping into the atmosphere. Some liquids such as alcohol have low surface energy , hence they evaporate rapidly.

There are several agents of soil erosion these are water, wind and ice.
WATER
Water is the most important agent of soil erosion , the erosion by water involves the following:
Splash erosioncaused by moving water from rain, this tends to remove some of the materials from one place to another.
Sheer erosionwhich involves the removal of the uniform cover of the soil by surface run-off on gentle slopes.
Rills erosionthat leads to the formation of small channels called rills on the surface.
Gully erosion,that leads to the formation of deep troughs called gullies due to severe under cutting
River erosion,takes place in the specific Chanel called river valley

WIND
Wind is another agent of soil erosion. It takes place in arid and semi-arid or where soil is loose. The soil in such areas is dry, loose and unprotected because of the scarcity of vegetation. It is turned into dust which is then blown away by wind.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
