About

Genesis lives with her mother and an elder sister, who is 20. They live in a small house built by the government but had to take out a loan for it, which they are now working to pay back. Genesis is a very bright student and managed to get a place at one of the best state secondary schools in the city. This means a long daily journey from her house on the outskirts, as the school is in the middle of the city, but she says she doesn't mind this (most days!). She enjoys most subjects at school, and is also very fond of animals. This is why she would one day like to become a vet.

I'm now in my final year of secondary school. I've been studying in this school for six years and have had lots of good experiences and learned a lot. It's a school which is very demanding and I'm grateful for the opportunity of being there. I'm happy to be coming to the end of this stage of my life and looking forward to facing new challenges.
hi,

Her poor background did not deter her from achieving her goal. She is very determined to succeed in life and become the first surgeon in her village. Her father is a woodcarver while her mother is a house wife. Due to lack of market for wood carvings her father has not been able to provide for the big family. This coupled with frequent droughts has seen the family lack basic needs like food. Agnes is very focused and believes that no man is limited in this world.
