About

My home life is so difficult. But even so, my mother ensured that I will attend school and get a quality education. In my family I am the only one who has the highest education level. I am the last born to my mother. Our life started to be hard when my father left us. My mother took work as food vendor. She cooks different foods and she sells the food in the market. After completing my primary school, I was selected to join a secondary school, but my mother doesn't have enough money to send me to school. Someone helped her with a little capital and my mother started another business. She now sells fish at market. She is a business woman! When I complete my advanced level education with the highest mark Division 1, and also when I reach my goal of becoming a public speaker, I will be the voice of all the less fortunate people.

Hi Student

Are you ready for your school break? When I was at school, I cannot wait to have my summer and winter breaks.

I did a bit traveling last month. I took a cruise trip to cross the Atlantic Ocean. I boarded the ship in Miami. It took seven days to cross the Atlantic Ocean, the first stop is at Canary Islands. It is part of Spain. The crossing was pretty smooth. I only had one rough sea day. It was nice to get off the boat and touched the land. Eventually we visit three other cities in Spain, Malaga, Catagena and Barcelona. Basically the boat sailed along the northern end of the Middertarian sea. Later we also visited Nice, which is in France, and Florence, which is in Italy. Finally we got off in Roma. Have you heard of these places? Maybe you can use the Internet to google these places. The whole trip lasted 17 days. I am very happy to return home after this long period of time. Nothing compares to home. Don't you agree?

What is the plan for the school break? Please write back to me and let me know.

Until next time,
Indy

Dear Young Ladies of Iringa School,

It has been a long time since I wrote to you. I hope that you are in good health, and that your studies are going well.

Your mid-term exams were just last month, how did you do?

I would like to hear from you, to learn what you are doing and thinking and how your families and friends are.

What are you learning in school now?

As for me my life is busy with work and family. My son and his girlfriend are getting married soon, and just recently I have been helping them set up their new apartment.

As always I am reading a lot of interesting books and articles; this week I have been reading about the discoveries and photos coming in from a spacecraft that has been circling the planet Jupiter, there is a giant hurricane on the planet with winds up to 1609 km per hour.

I look forward to reading your new journal posts.
Be well,
Karen

Hi Students

How are you? Did you enjoy your break?

My husband and I just came back from a trip to the Antartica. It was a long trip, 22 days total. We first flew to Buenos Aries, the capital city of Argentina. After spending two days there, we flew down to the Ushuaia, the tip of the South America continent to board a ship. The ship took us to the Falkland Island, the South Georgia Island and the Antartica Peninsula. This is the summer season there. The ice started to break up to allow the ship to sail there. The temperature was around 1 degree Celsius, not bad at all. Most days were sunny. We saw so many penguins, seals and sea birds. They were all having babies. The babies were cute beyond descriptions. Their parents were busy feeding them. You would be touched by how tentative the parents were towards their babies. The scenery was so beautiful. I hope you can go to the internet to check out this region. With the threat of globe warming, I am a bit worried about how long the Antartica continent will hold. Recently from the news report, a large chunk of ice actually broke off from the continent. Sad, isn't?

Ok, enough of my trip report.

Please write back to me.

Until next time,
Indy
Dear Girls of Iringa School,

Happy New Year 2017!
I hope you had a relaxing, happy, long break, a break that calmed your mind and refreshed your spirit.

I wanted to write you all as a group to explain why I went silent In the School Fund posts) late October and since then, including during your school break.

I had an operation named a "total hip replacement" in November and I was off work and staying with friends while I recovered. I go back to work tomorrow January 16th a National Holiday in the U.S. in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King.

I missed you all, and I look forward to reading your posts as the New Year and your school year moves ahead.

If any of you are interested in medical or nursing topics and want to know more about this operation, just write me? ( I promise not to make the description too terrible).
I just found the whole process very interesting.

Here is a thought for your new school term;

"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives". Henry David Thoreau

be well!
Karen
hello jonathan, i hope that you are doing well. the new semester has resumed and i continue well with my studies. I appreciate your effort of paying my school fees and other payments. I would like to ensure that i will make my performance more better in this semester. I also so happy to hear about Greenland so far you like geography subject. I wish good day.
Dear Students,

As the New Year begins, I make a habit of collecting new wisdom from different sources to guide my life for the New Year. Below are a few of my favorite things I found that I would like to share with you:

1) Experience The Joy Of Learning

Each time you learn something new you gain more knowledge and with more knowledge come more confidence. Learning helps us become more adaptable and flexible to new situations. Learning encourages us to be more creative and innovative in our thinking and we are therefore more comfortable with the unknown.
Reading books is a great way for us to learn. To fully embrace the joy of learning, never stop reading and searching for more knowledge.

2) Touch someone’s soul with your kindness

Random Acts of Kindness. It’s the little things in life that matter most. Hold a door, smile at people. Kindness does not cost much and it touches the soul of another person.

3) When you master your emotions, you master your life

Anger. This is one emotion that is sure to pop up sometime during the day. How you deal with your anger says a lot about who you are as a person. How well do you manage your emotions? Do you have a harsh reaction if someone says something insulting to you? Anger can be a destructive emotion if not managed properly.

4) Respect other people’s opinions even when they differ from your own.

Conflict. It’s rare that two people agree on most topics. Conflict is everywhere. It happens at work, home, with family and friends. Disagreeing isn’t the problem (although most people think it is). The problem is not giving value to the opinions of others.

5) Speech is a powerful tool.

Your words. Watch your words carefully. They can be daggers or building blocks. You can crush the spirit of someone or make them feel like they can conquer the world. Taste your words before you spit them out. Words are your thoughts coming to life. It’s your choice.

What are your favorite quotes and wisdom to live by? I’d love to hear your thought on that.

Cheers,
Jonathan Gilbert
My dear student,
This school year went by so quickly. I just like to say hello to every one. Wish you have great break and wonderful holidays. Remember read your favor books during the break too. Think what is you would like to accomplish for you next school year? How are going to get there? Use this break to prepare yourself. I wish all of you had great future ahead of you. You have to work hard to get there.
In US we had Thanksgiving, now every body prepare for Christmas then will be New Year.
It is the most busy and happy time for every body. Wish see you all next August or September. Best regards,
Judy
Hi

How are you guys doing?

I understand the school semester is coming to an end very soon. Have you had a good semester? Are you looking forward to having some time off.

I have not done much since I wrote to you last time. Just the daily routine stuff. One thing I would like to mention is my volunteer work in a animal shelter. Every Monday I go to an animal shelter to take care of some dogs. This shelter has both dogs and cats. Since I am allergic to cats, I limited my work with just dogs. I take them out to walk around the neighborhood and give them many treats. Some of the dogs have been there for quite a while. I feel very bad for them. I wish I can adopt them. But I already have a dog at home. She will not be happy if I bring other dogs home. She does not want to share me with other dogs.

I am leaving for a trip to Antartica in December. I hope it will not be too cold while I am there. I will let you know how it is like there.

Hope you have a good time during your month off.

Until next time,

Indy

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
