Hi Alexander,

We grow everything in the US because it is big and has very good soil in many parts of our country, growing food is abundent in the US. Of course we also raise livestock in different parts of the country. Kenya is almost the same size as Texas. Texas has a lot of livestock, some farming but that State is more dessert like. Texas is known for it's oil. We live in Maryland which is midatlantic on the east coast. It's a tiny State but the land is very good for crops and we have lots of seafood because our State is on the Coast. I think a lot of corn (or maize) is grown here, soy, and many other vegetables. I only have a small vegetable garden on our property and mostly buy my food from local farmers. We do not have that much land as a family. We eat mostly from local farmers but most Americans shop in grocery stores and the food could come from all over the US, sometimes for South America. Our kids go to Kindergarden, then start 1st grade and go through to 12th grade. About 30% go on to University in the US. They usually finish school at age 18. My youngest daughter is filling applications out now for going to College or University and my older two kids are in University right now. It is hard with the pandemic, they are mostly learning through their computers since they don't meet in person, so they stay in their rooms and get lectures from their professors that they view from their computers.

Keep reading books, that will help you when you get back in school.

Take care, Laura
Hi friends,,

It has been well moment for me for those past few days during this pandemic following all the precaution.Today is another day we learnt a lot about how we should behave as a youth.Surely i can say the day was made for me and i really appreciate it keeping in mind i will honestly follow what we learnt as a youth to overcome all my challenges we pass through.God bless you all.......................
Hi friends

Hi Laura,

I hope you are doing well following all precaution to fight this pandemic I'm still following set up precautions as well. I really thank God for His blessing of rain which fall abundantly last rain season. Our crops did well and we really harvested a lot. We have reared animal such as cows, goat, chicken and donkey. Being away from school has not hindered me from reading I'm working hard to chase my goal.

Which type of crops do you grow in your country? and is your education system the same as the one we use here in kenya?
Hi Alexander,

So sorry you are out of school right now, it is a crazy time with this pandemic. You should definately write about how things have changed because of the pandemic, you are living in the history books right now and your kids one day will love to know how life was with this terrible virus. I am glad you are keeping up with reading while school is not in session, it's always wonderful to learn.

Did you get good rains in the Fall? Are your crops growing well? What animals do you have at your homestead? Continue to work hard, hard work pays off. I have been to Kenya and to Wamunyu twice, it is very beautiful and I love the people that I have met. I hope to meet you one day. Take care, Laura
Hi people,I hope you are fine following all measures to secure yourself against this pandemic,covid19. We are now out of school due to this virus. On my side am doing all the best that is required to fight this virus and then at home am committed to helping my parents with tiny chores. The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
