Agnes is the second born child in a family of six. Despite facing many challenges, she managed to emerge second top student in her school. Her poor background did not deter her from achieving her goal. She is very determined to succeed in life and become the first surgeon in her village. Her father is a woodcarver while her mother is a house wife. Due to lack of market for wood carvings her father has not been able to provide for the big family. This coupled with frequent droughts has seen the family lack basic needs like food. Agnes is very focused and believes that no man is limited in this world.

Hi donors and allies
How have you been ? Hope you have been good and doing great as I have been . My family are doing great only that the rains have delayed .What season are you experiencing there at your country?

I would like to inform you that we have come for a short holiday which will be coming to the end by tomorrow .

In my academic progress ,the exam we have done previously, I have improved with 8 points which is a challenge to me that I can. I have the confidence that I can and I will make it by the end of the race. I am in the journey towards achieving my target.

Recently, I have been reading the storybook entitled 'The great cake mystery' which tells about Precious,the detective and how she solves cases wisely with wisdom. Also ,from that story I learnt that it is not good to conclude things without proving the truth of something.I would request you to read that story and you will enjoy it.

How have you been? Hope you have been well. For my side, I am doing well . I thank Almighty God for His protection since I left home for school.I would like to inform you that I have come home for a short holiday,after coming to the end of my 1st term in grade 9.

Thanks a lot for supporting my education up to this point. Although in this term, life was not a bed of roses I have tried coping up with it . I am still in this race, working harder and harder to achieve my hearts target. I still bear in mind that no man is limited in this life and hard work pays and one day it pay back. I will never give up no matter what comes on my way. I know that in this life challenges have to come in ones life and one day they will come to their end.
Although the corona cases have reduced we have to continue taking the measures and guide lines given by WHO. I would like to urge you to continue taking care of yourselves from this pandemic .

I would like to urge you to continue protecting yourself as we are praying to Almighty God to grant us protection.Yeah, I have realised that students score high when they read for fun and that is why I use most of my time reading story books and novels. Really I have learnt much from the mentor sections such as new careers and I have been nurtured in my career as well.I have liked how there are so many professions from various parts of the world encouraging us ,explaining deeply and answering our questions clearly.

It's so good to hear from you! I am glad to hear you are staying healthy. I am staying well too. I always wear my face mask when I leave my house and I wash my hands a lot. I am happy you have the goal of being the first doctor from your village. Doctors and health care professionals are providing such essential services during this pandemic.

One of the best ways to achieve in school is to READ. Did you know that students who read for fun score higher on exams? I read almost every day and I practice writing so I can improve. If you haven't done so already, I strongly encourage you to borrow books from the KC LRC to read.

Have you done any of the on-line classes at the KC LRC? Are they helpful? How about the mentor series? What have you liked most about it?

I live in Maryland which is close to our nation's capitol, Washington, DC. We are now in autumn. The leaves have just started changing from green to red, yellow and orange. Once they change, they will fall off before the cold of winter arrives. Some people don't like the cold weather, but I do. I wear lots of jackets and jumpers.

    The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

    I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

    Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
