About

Nohemi is from Mendosayoc, an extremely remote community that is approximately a three-day trip from Cusco, on the border of the Andes and the Amazon. There is no high school in Mendosayoc, so Nohemi left her community at age 12 and moved to Calca, where she completed her secondary education. Now, because of Mosqoy’s support, she will be studying at a post-secondary institute in Cusco. Nohemi hopes to return to her hometown once she graduates and support her community and family. Nohemi is a strong advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women in education. She feels lucky that her family supported her to pursue her studies, “even though she was a girl.”

Dear donors.

Please accept my gratitude for the work that you and your collaborators do to support youth who want to achieve all their objectives and goals.

I am Nohemi Tintaya Maza. I come from the community of Mendosayoc. Currently, as you know, I am studying the degree of OFFICIAL TOURISM GUIDE at CENFOTUR institute in Cusco.
This year for me has been very good because I learned a lot about my degree, and I can tell you that this year was an unforgettable experience. I had outings and field trips where each of the students gave a tour through archaeological sites. Through this, I lost the fear that I had before; obviously, I learned to behave more confidently in public. In this way, I managed to get good grades in this fifth semester (V) of my degree, although I had to work hard to get good grades. All that was worth it, though, because the truth is I achieved what I wanted, and I moved on to the sixth semester and feel happy because I'm almost at the end of my degree. Now, I'm practically on vacation. My classes start in March, so now I'm enjoying the vacation with my parents and they have also always given me the necessary support that I need.

Well, now I will be looking forward to my classes and starting with everything. Finally, I am very grateful for your support, I know that over time I will achieve what I always wanted: to “BE A PROFESSIONAL.” Thank you very much for continuing to provide your support to those in Casa Mosqoy.

Sincerely: NOHEMI

a casa MOSQOY.

Dear donors,

I send you a cordial greeting. It is a pleasure for me to write to you with the objective of expressing my sincere gratitude for the donation you have made to the MOSQOY Youth Program. Your donation will cover the expenses of my degree and monthly payments.

I am Nohemi Tintaya Maza from the community of Mendosayoc, I am currently studying the degree of OFFICIAL TOURIST GUIDE at the CENFOTUR Institute in Cusco.

This year for me was very good because I managed to gain more knowledge about my degree. Tell you a little about my last semesters (fourth IV and fifth V cycle). This whole year I did face-to-face classes, which guarantees that I learn and retain each session of the classes. In addition, my fifth semester is going very well for me and every Friday of the week we have guided tours to the temples, monuments, and archaeological sites, etc. This is very good for me because this way I can get over my nervousness by gaining experience talking to people. I know that achieving good grades is a little complex, but nothing is impossible. Everything depends on the efforts of each person.

Finally, I am totally grateful to all of you for supporting the MOSQOY program.
THANK YOU SO MUCH

MUCHAS GRACIAS

Dear Donor,
Please receive my thanks for the extraordinary work that you and your collaborators do to support students who want to achieve all their goals and objectives.
Through this I would like to inform about myself and how my studies are going. Well, to begin with, my classes began in March for both my degree and English. My classes start from 7:15 a.m. to 2:00 pm and my English classes are in the afternoon at 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm so at night I take advantage of doing my homework. The truth is that this second cycle of my career "Official Tourist Guide" was very heavy for me because to begin with the teachers were very strict compared to the first cycle. Apart from that they left us too many group tasks, but little by little I adapted to the style of each teacher, and I learned many things because I was able to go to the institute itself for in-person classes. It was not every day, but I always went on specific days. It was a very nice experience for me since there I was able to get to know my classmates and teachers better.
Apart from that, I would also like to tell you how my experience with Mosqoy is going.
At home everything is going well for me; this year I met new classmates. Before we used to be just a few students, but this year it was different because there were more students from different communities. I get along very well with them because they are humble people who dedicate themselves to their studies just like me.
To conclude, I am very grateful for your support. I know that over time I will achieve what I have always wanted to “BE A PROFESSIONAL.”
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Nohemi Tintaya Maza

Muchas Gracias
ATENTAMENTE: Nohemi Tintaya Maza
Dear Donor,

I have the privilege of addressing you to say, as you know, I am a student in Mosqoy, and I feel very grateful towards this organization. First of all, I am Nohemi Tintaya Maza. This year I started studying tourism in the Institute CENFOTUR. I am very happy to start studying after losing a year because of the pandemic. But the good thing is that now I am more at peace and also I received both my doses of the vaccine. But ultimately, the number of cases is increasing until the borders will close again. For me, that won’t be fair because I want to start my classes in-person and learn more about tourism. Sometimes this worries me about my studies.

This year, I would have liked to go to my institute and meet new people and like that be able to socialize with my friends, and I know that would have been more convenient for me. My classes will start in March 2022, so I have two months of vacation to make the most of visiting my family and being together with them. Now, because of my studies, I don’t go very often to the Valley so I only visit my family when there are vacations, so I don’t see them constantly. I only communicate with them through phone calls, but it’s not enough.

Finally, I would like to thank you, donors, for helping us to achieve our goals. I feel very happy to know that I have someone to help me with my studies. Thank you so much. I know it’s not sufficient to thank you in this way, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you,
Nohemi
Dear Donor,

I address you on behalf of Mosqoy. We are a group of students that don’t have the financial means to study, and we are from different communities. I am from a very remote community, and I am going to share with you the experience I’ve had during the pandemic. During this time, I was in the valley with my parents, and I saw the people there working very hard to earn 10 cents. The situation there is very complicated and painful because I see my parents that don’t have time to be in the house. Every day, they have to go to the fields to work, and really, it pains me. I wouldn’t want to be in their place, so this got me thinking that I need to study in order to support my family. I don’t want to see them suffer. I thank you donors for supporting us. I am very content and happy because I know with your help I will be able to move forward in my life.

Thank you so much,
Nohemi

Estimado donante,

Muchisimas gracias,
Nohemi

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
