In life he worked as a police officer and his mother died in 2008, victim of illness. He has no siblings. Since the death of his parents he is living with his grandfather. The house remained with 1 bedroom after he walls of the other bedroom and living room fell with Cyclone Idai. There is an outside bathroom and the house has piped drinking water. The grandfather is retired and receives a little bonus. What he receives is not enough to support the family, sometimes they spend the day without meals. Lucas's preferred subject at school is Biology and he wants to become a Teacher. During 2020, due to COVID 19, the students had to study home, going weekly to the school to buy brochures and copies of tests. Most of the kids could not afford it.
