About

Anne Wanjeri is a 17-year-old bright girl. Her father works as a hawker, but does not earn enough to support the family. Anne's mother does not work, so the burden to meet the family's basic needs - including school fees for Anne and her siblings - lies on the father's shoulders. This limited Anne's ability to achieve her goals in life, and her vision was almost shut down until she was thankfully admitted to AMCC in 2008. Her favorite food is rice and beef stew and she wants to be an accountant after she graduates from university. This can help her support her poor family to meet their basic needs and provide an education for her siblings. At AMCC, Anne is the Bible Study Co-ordinator.

Hey! Conor! Hope that you are fine. I am thankful to God for giving me this chance to say hey to you. I am humbled to inform you that I am at home (AMCC-K) after I break for midterm break on Friday 4.10.2013 to report back on Wednesday 09.10.2013.
My staying at school have been very smooth where I have been studying and doing revision. I got my mock results with a mean grade of D+ which was not my best because I had targeted for a C.I am working hard for the four year course exam so as to get a good grade which will enable me to join university so as to pursue my career. I am enjoying the warm staying with my brothers and sisters at AMCC-Kenya where am continuing doing my revision. Thank for your concern to me and support may God bless you and do you good.
Anne,
I am so glad that you are feeling better! I hope the results for your exams are good, and I'm happy that you are studying hard. I wonder what your favorite subject is. Mine were music, English, and chemistry. I hope you have a great time in school this year! Keep us posted! Jill
I closed school for August holiday on 4th August 2013 which was before the others because I was not feeling well and this was caused by lack of enough blood in my body but now I am healed and have enough blood. I did my mock exam of which the results are not yet out.
I am opening the school for third term on 3rd September 2013 and being my final term, I have aimed to do more revision so that I can attain grade B. Thanks a lot for your support in paying my school fees and God bless you and enlarge your boundaries.
Hi Anne,
I work with Michael at The School Fund. He is away studying in Morocco. I hope that you are enjoying the start of the new year! Let me know how you like your new classes and teachers. When I was in school I loved to study earth sciences and ecology. Do you ever study those subjects?

Good luck in the new year!
Christi
Dear Michael,
I have received your letter today Sunday 18th November 2012 which you sent on Thursday 15th November 2012.Thanks for your concern. I am still going on well and working hard to attain my ambition. I have done the end of the year exam but the results are not out now. I am hoping when they shall be out I will have improved than before.

I closed school on 17th November 2012 and I shall open on 8th January 2013. I have enjoyed my year at school without been sent home because of school fees. God bless you for having paid my school fees for the whole year. God bless you and do you good.
Dear Michael,

I hope that you are fine in the Lord as I am. I am glad to inform you
that I received my end of term result and I had a mean grade D.
I have been at AMCC-Kenya for Christmas holiday and have enjoyed to
be with my brothers sisters.

I have not been feeling well from 22nd November 2012 up today but know
by God’s and favor I will be well soon.
I cannot forget to thank you for making me be at school for the whole
year by paying my school fees. God bless you and do you good. Have a
merry Christmas and prosperous new year 2013.
Hi Anne! Thanks for the update. It's good to see that you have been improving in school! It sounds like you have a lot of ambition, which is great to see!
Dear Danica,

On Friday 19th October I breaked for mid term break and reported to school on Tuesday 23.10.2012. I have spent my midterm break well at AMCC-Kenya. I have been taught more about God and depending on Him. And I have been encouraged. Before mid term break my stay at school was very good without having been sent home for school fees. I
was given my result for the end of term two and I had a mean grade of D + which was an improvement from D plain. I promise by the end of term to have been improved from a D + to a C plain. (Editor's note: Kenya has a different grading scale than the USA.)

Thanks for your concern may God bless you and do you good.
God bless you.
I am well and Jesus is Lord in my soul. Am very happy for
the opportunity that the Lord has given you to help me. My hobbies are
praying, playing volleyball and handball. My favorite subjects in
school are mathematics, Business study, physics and studying the word
of God and after school. I desire to study accounting and take a course
in electronic engineering. Thank you and may God bless you.
Hi Anne,
How are you? My name is Danica and I am part of a club called Kenya Dream. We are very happy that we have this opportunity to help you out with school. What are your hobbies? What are your favorite subjects in school?
We look forward to hearing from you!
Mungu akubariki,

Hi Anne!

My name is Michael and I work with The School Fund. I just wanted to see how you are doing and introduce myself. I'm a university student in America and I live in a state called Connecticut. How is everything with you? It sounds like you have been doing very well, both in school and sports! I hope you are happy and keep up the good work!

Best,

Michael
In this term I improved from last term 2011.I was position 34 out of 99.
I have also participated in cross country at Kirwara boys where I was position seventy five out of five hundred girls. Also I have been participating in Christian Union club at school. I have enjoyed my term for having not sent home for school fees.
Hello Anne,
You are almost completely funded. I'm hoping you can get the rest soon. I hope you are now feeling better. Is there a doctor close by in case you are still feeling poorly? I'll check later to see if you get the rest of the money. Best wishes to you!

I am still working hard in my new school so that I can attain my dream. I have done continuous assessment test and am waiting for my results. On 11th February I went for cross country and attained position seventy nine out of five hundred girls.

On Friday 2nd March we started school break for mid-term and I have been at AMCC. I have enjoyed being here, and today Tuesday 6th I am going back to school.

I request you may remember me in your prayer for i have not been feeling well for the last three weeks.
I was schooling at Giachuki Secondary School, but was transferred to Kiunyu Girls where am going to join form three. I have been at home (AMCC-K) for the last one week because I could not join the school without school fees. I am feeling that my dream is threatened because I have not attained whatever I wanted to attain in this term. I have been revising form one and two work for the last one week.

I would like to thank you for hearing and knowing that you have volunteered to be paying my school fees. May God who sees in secret bless you all.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
