Hi Dorcus,
I am so glad to hear that you have done well on your exam. Keep up your hard work and remember that you can achieve anything you set your mind to! I am ending my summer holiday and going back to school very soon. I hope to hear how your holiday is going. Also, could you tell me a bit about your school? I would love to know what your typical day is like.

Wishing you the best,
Julia
Hi christi,
Thanks for getting in touch. I really enjoyed your company in June. We are now in August holiday and we shall resume back in September.

In school we learn several subjects. For example in history we learn about government and past events and in geography we learn about the environment. Languages like Kiswahili and English are very important for communication. If you were to go back to School which subjects would you choose to study?

Wishing you all the best.

Dorcas
Dear Julia Millard,
Thank you once again for supporting my education. We have closed school for august holiday and we will resume back on 5th September. At end of the term we did our end of term exam and I am happy because I improved in my performance from grade C to C+. I am working extra hard over the holiday in order to attain grade B.

wishing you all the best in your daily activities.

Hi Dorcas,
Thank you for the message! I met you when I came to Kenya in June. We had such a nice time getting to speak with you and all of the Kenya Connect students. Are you on holiday now? What are you learning about in school?

When I was in school I studied the environment, and I learned about marine animals like oysters. Even though I like my job, I miss learning in school too!

Take care,
Christi
Hallo Christi,

Thank you so much for appreciating my results. I am happy to see that you are highly motivated by my performance. I promise to continue working hard to attain the best grades. I sincerely thank The School Fund and Kenya connect for making my education possible.

Wishing you all the best in your job. Take care!
Dorcas.
Hi Dorcas! I just heard how well you did in school last term. Congratulations! You are inspiring me to work harder at my job too. I hope that you continue to do well.

Christi

Carly,
I am overwhelmed with joy for your support on my education through Kenya connect and The School Fund. School is fine and we have closed for the April holiday. We will resume back on May for the second term of the year. our School year begins on January and ends on November with three breaks. I am still working hard to attain my dreams. I have improved so much in my favorite classes although i dropped physics.

Mbaani High School is a mixed day and boarding school meaning that some students go home after school while others reside in school. My favorite movie is a local drama called 'Tahidi High' which educates so much and encourages hard work in school. Your favorite movie seems so interesting and i would love to see it. High Flyers is a combined book of test papers from form one to form four. It prepares one to perform better in exams.

Nice to hear from you. Wishing you all the best in your studies.

Dorcas.
Hi Dorcus,

My name is Carly Greenspan and I work with Kenya Connect. I just wanted to take this time to introduce myself and get to know you! How is school? I see your favorite classes are Math, Physics, and Kiswahili - how are these courses going? I hope everything is great for you! Right now, the students and teachers at my school are trying to finish as much coursework as we can before the end of the school year (our year ends in May and begins again in August). So it's a bit crazy, but still fun!
I'd love to hear a bit about Mbaani High School!

I also saw that you like watching movies - that's definitely one of my hobbies too. Do you have any favorites? One of my all-time favorites is The Pursuit of Happiness. The story is amazing - it shows how important perseverance and love for family and friends truly is. And what is your favorite book about? I've never read High Flyers before.

Take care and best of luck in school,

Carly
Hi Dorcus,

Hi Dorcus,

Hi Jill,

Sorry for delaying to reply you. I want to thank you so much for your concern. My school life is now more enjoyable. I have no worries of school fees anymore.

In our farm we grow different varieties of crops like Maize (Corn) and beans, fruits like mangoes and oranges and also other cereals crops like cowpeas. Currently we are in the season of Mangoes and we are really enjoying them.

my favorite classes are Biology, Chemistry, Maths and history

In our area we are experiencing warm temperatures with some showers during the evening. Cold seasons are normally in the months of June and July but the temperatures do not go below freezing points so we do not experience snow in our country.

Much blessings!

Dorcus.
Hello Dorcus!
Thanks for replying. I'm so glad we could help ease your worries about paying for school. What do you grow on your farm? What are your favorite classes? I live in North Dakota, USA, and it's beginning to get very cold right now. We finally got a little snow today. Is it always warm where you live? I hope you are enjoying school again, and I hope we can keep in touch! Blessings for the new year!
Jill

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
