About

Mutete is a orphan girl who is determined and hardworking. She completed primary education at Nyaani primary school in 2012 and emerged the top best student at the school. She is the only child in her family. Her mother passed away on Mutete's 6th birthday when she was just in the first grade. Mutete was left under the care of her aged and ailing grandmother (over 80 years old). Thanks to the support from a well-wisher, Mutete was able to complete her primary education and most encouraging to score best grades in her class in the national exam! Throughout primary school Mutete was always among the best students in class. Now Mutete has no support for her education and her aged grandmother has no source of income making Mutete's education and future look uncertain. However, Mutete's dream and passion to become a pilot remains clear in her mind. She believes that education is the key to a successful future life.

Thank you so much for the Birthday Wishes. Though I did not celebrate it I always remember the day. I am happy to hear that you care for me. Thank you for the advice that you always offer to me me. I am going back to School today to begin the second term of the year.I am privileged to have some revision materials and textbooks from Kenya Connect Learning resource center. These material have been beneficial to me during the vacation and I am sure I will continue improving my grades. Finally I wish you all the best in life.     Emmaculate is the last born in a family of three; one sister and one brother. Her parents rely on subsistence farming for livelihood, which has been greatly affected by the changing climate. While in primary school, Emmaculate spent most of the time at home while the other students were at school. This was because of lack of finances to cater for some of the requirements at school. This did not stop her but instead propelled her towards achieving her dream of becoming a cardiologist in order to save lives. Her role model is Barack Obama and she likes his phrase of ‘Yes we can’. Moreover, she likes reading story books during her free time.

    Mutheu is the fifth born child from a family of 6 children. Her parents rely on casual jobs to sustain the family. Despite being sent home due to school levies every now and then, she has remained resolved towards achieving her dream of becoming a teacher. Mutheu believes that knowledge is power and she wants to pass it to students to end illiteracy in the rural areas. She also wants to empower students to attain their dream careers and occupations so as to improve their livelihoods. During her free time, she likes to read novels.

He wants to become a secondary school teacher when he grows up. He is inspired to be a teacher so that he can contribute to building society through knowledge sharing.
