Hi Mutete!

I think about you all of the time and I have your picture at my desk that I see everyday. The weather here is warm, cold, wet, dreary and changes all of the time in South Texas due tho the weather patterns from the Gulf of Mexico mixed with other weather influences like the cold winter winds from the North of the USA and Canada. Every day it is different. Please study hard and do your very best-that knowledge will be with you forever.
We are looking for a new place to live in San Antonio which is quite an effort as my husband has been sick for more than a year now. It has been quite a challenge. So, I am sorry for the lags in communication. Nevertheless, I support you in your efforts in bettering yourself. Keep up your good work.

Warm regards,

Cheryl
Hallo Cheryl,

Hope all is well with you. I am doing well in school. We are now on a mid-term break. The weather here is very hot and dry. We are expecting the rains very soon. How is the weather in America? I am still focused and working hard to achieve my goal.

wishing you all the best.

Mutete
Hi Cheryl
I am fine and doing well and I hope you are fine too. I take this opportunity to appreciate and thank you for your support in my education. We have closed school for the December holiday, which is the longest vacation. We are experiencing a lot of rain now in our country and people are busy planting crops. How is the weather in your country?

I am still focused in my education and determined to achieve my goal. Finally, I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Yours truly,
Mutete.
Hi Cheryl,

I am so happy to read a journal from you. I am doing fine and school is going on well. We are now on a mid-term break. We shall resume back to school on Sunday 6th for the last part of the term. I am working hard in school to achieve good grades. Thank you so much for keeping me in your mind. You are a true friend indeed.

Most of the things we are doing in school are not very new. They are just like continuation of what we learned in primary school.

Wishing you all the best in your daily chores.

Mutete
Hi Mutete,

How are you and how are your studies? I have your picture at my desk and was thinking about you. I hope all is well. Please tell me what you have been studying and if there is anything new in your life.

Wishing you well!

Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,

I am so happy to receive birth day wishes from you! Thank you so much for being a wonderful friend. Sorry for breaking your foot! i wish you quick recovery.

We are currently on vacation but we will resume school next week. In school i am still focused and my teachers have been helping me so much. My stay in school through out the term was quite good. I am ever grateful for the support i receive from you and the Ft. Smalwood community. With your support i am always in school. I will keep to work hard in school to achieve my goal.

Thank you for the photo you sent to me! Surely i am a big deal!

wishing you many blessings!
Mutete
Dear Mutete,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have the time to check your email to see the birthday picture I sent you. You are a "Big Deal" and a student that keeps trying. Continue to ask questions so you have a full understanding of your studies. Who knows, you could even help your classmates or become a teacher one day!

I looked up the recipe for chapati and the chicken stew; it sounds wonderful! I am going to try to make it when I can walk again-I have broken my foot and have had many complications. Many cultures have a bread with similarities to chapati. Mexico has flour and corn tortillas, as well as sweet buñuelos, while India has naan.

Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Best regards,

Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,

Thank you once again for your journal. I am sorry i could not reply on time since i was in school. We had a mid term break for four days that is why i got time to reply your journal. We usually get Internet services from Kenya Connect office. My holiday was good as i celebrated Christmas and New year! We had one of my favorite dishes "Chapati" and chicken stew! Chapati is made from wheat floor; a thin dough which is shallow fried. It tastes sweet! I also helped my grandmother on the farm weeding for the crops. Now that i am in school i am putting extra efforts. I try as much as possible to understand what the teachers are teaching and if i do not i usually seek help from them. Thank you for explaining to me about the need to understand and not to memorize. I am very grateful to you.

Wishing you all the best!

Mutete

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
