About

Jonathan is the fourth born child in a family of six children. He has a twin brother called Isaac Nzingi. Their parents are divorced and have deserted the children. The children live with a guardian (Florence) who takes care for them. The main challenge is that the guardian family has a big family of their own (comprised of seven children) to fend for therefore limiting their ability to support these adopted children. The first and the second born brothers of Jonathan completed form four in 2012 and 2014 through support of well-wishers. The third born is currently in form four at the Mbaikini School and is supported by the guardian family. Jonathan did his primary exam in 2014 and passed well with 323 marks and has been admitted at The Mbaikini school. Jonathan is determined to join high school despite all odds. He is aspiring to become a reputable journalist in future.

Jonathan-- So good to hear from you! I had heard from James that you are a Peace Club Ambassador. Such and excellent program. In your spare time keep reading and keep practice writing. It will help on exams. It is very hot in Maryland, although the summer is beginning to end and autumn and cooler temperatures should be coming. Public schools start next week. Keep working hard and I hope to see you in October!
Greetings sharon,
Hi mum! Pleasure to hear from you. I have learnt that you are good in hiking and running marathons. I thinking hiking and running marathons is good for physical body fitness. I will try that came next year.I have a lot of fun during peace club training and I am also happy for being a peace ambassador. I am looking forward to transform our school into an oasis of peace. My grandparents are usually happy when I am at home. I usually do chores like cultivating, cleaning the compound, looking after the cattle and so on. They have a farm of about three acres.
I would like to apologize for not updating my journal when we closed school on 4th August 2018. We are now reporting back to school today for the final term of the year. I think its a bit challenging to meet you on october, for we will be getting ready for the national exam(K.C.S.E). I am really working hard and hope my results will impress you.

Thank you very much for supporting me in my secondary education course. Actually I am very much grateful for your continuous support. My God our Lord bless you abundantly.
Thank you.
Jonathan N.

Fiona is the last born in a family of three. She lives with both her parents who are casual labourers. Her mother had a major surgery on her left hand in 2020. This made them sell part of their property to take care of the medical bills and thus reducing their income significantly and again making it very difficult for them to take care of the education bills of their children. Fiona drew her inspiration to pursue success from her Math teacher and she aspires to be a civil engineer to make contributions in the development of infrastructure in her village.
