About

Diana is a confident and hard-working girl who completed primary school at Mbaikini primary school in 2012. Her father passed away on Diana's 12th birthday when she was just in the fifth grade and she was left under the care of her aging grandmother. Through support from well-wishers, Diana was able to complete primary education and score good grades in the national exam. Diana has a budding talent for leadership and served as a class prefect all through her primary education and was appointed the school head-girl on her final year in primary school. At the end of the 2015 Diana became pregnant and was forced to dropout to care for her child. After a healthy child was born, she has decided to return to school and hopes to one day become a doctor. Unfortunately her grandmother cannot raise the money needed to take Diana to school.

This is Maggie on the right with her roommate at University in the snow at Penn State where Maggie attends school. You met her when we came to Kenya in the winter of 2017. Miss you! Laura
Hi Diana,

This is our house with our dog having fun with the snow. You can see it is still snowing in the picture. Our kids get out of school on snow days since it is dangerous to drive cars or busses on snowy days because they slide on the slippery snow & ice. oxox's Laura
Hi Diana,

I have not heard from you in a long time, I am wondering what happened with your National exams? And I would love to know what your future plans are. I hope your dreams are coming true, I know you have worked hard and have a bright future ahead of you. When does your daughter start school, I can't believe she is that old already that she can be going to school. I would love to see a picture of her. Maggie is in her second year of college at Penn State University and Liam is finishing up his junior year or 11th grade at his High School. She is studying for his college entrance exams and starting to think about going to University. Lily has two more years left of High School and she is very active with sports and school work & friends. Here is a picture of the snow this Love you! Laura

Here is my kids at the beach.
Hi Diana,,

I am so incredibly proud of you it is so hard to go to school with a child, quite a wonderful accomplishment. But I saw when I was there how smart you are and how much of a leader you are. I know you will have a wonderful, successful career one day.

I am going to Spain with my youth group for a religious Pilgrimage. We will walk 100K on the El Camino trail. The kids have been fundraising for two years to help offset the price of the trip and we are taking about 60 kids, so that should be fun. Maggie is in Australia right now with her friends so I am anxious to hear how her trip is going. We have had tremendous rains recently, one just destroyed our little town, Ellicott City. We have helping collect goods for the residents and store owners who lost everything and are helping cleaning out their buildings of debris and trash. The water rose 12 feet so the whole first floors were under water. Cars got tossed around like toys and roads collapsed. One two hundred old building got washed away. Only one life was lost, a brave man who was trying to rescue someone else. All my best, keep up the good work, Laura
Jambo Laura? I hope that you are doing well with your fellows. Its my pleasure to inform you that I had a Brilliant holiday and spent a lot in books and my daughter Blessings. I have been also assisting my grandparents in farm activities since we are experiencing rains here.
I am happy that I am turning back today to school where I will put moire efforts to achieve my goals. May God keep you healthy and reward you more.
Bye! Bye!

Diana.
Diana,

We just went away to South Carolina for Spring break and rented a house on a pond and found this alligator in the pond. He was so cool looking but he is scary as well, I had never seen one this close up.

When do you finish up school? Take care Diana! Love you Laura & Maggie
Hi Diana,

Sorry I misspelled peace. I will be praying for peace for you with the loss of your brother. These pictures are from when I first saw you in 2011, when I saw you need a sponsor for secondary school, I immediately wanted to help you get through school because I had remembered you and wanted you to have a bright future. Here is another picture of you.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
