About

Teddy lives in Ng'ombe with his 25 year old cousin. His mother moved to the other side of Lusaka with his sisters to a more affordable area. They left Teddy with his cousin so that he could stay in school and because his mother couldn't afford a house big enough for him and his sisters. Teddy doesn't get to visit his mother and sisters often, and he misses them terribly. His cousin provides for him by working as a cleaner at a local grocery store. Teddys favorite thing to do is play futbol on the weekend with his team, the Super Eagles. Teddy likes school every much because it teaches him to be a good and successful person. Teddy understands how big of an impact being sponsored would have on his life. It would mean he could stay in school and he would have all the materials he needs to support his education. Teddy achieved the 2nd position in his class at Ng'ombe PTA school.

Hi Teddy,

I hope you are doing well. I work at a College in the USA and I know how important an education can be. Please know that there are people supporting you and wishing you well. Did you have a chance to watch any of the World Cup soccer? I know it might be hard to find television, but sometimes someone has a set-up. I hope you are enjoying your summer.
Hey Teddy, Keep working hard at school and keep writing letter here on the School Fund so that we know what you are up to! Give your mom a hug for me, lots of love , Mama Linda

Dear Sponsors,

Greeting to all of you and your families in large. We have opened the school and we are in the new term which is the second term in grade eight. I just want to thank those who have made it possible for me or for us in large to be in school this term, and to those who are still willing to support us. You are welcome and thank you.

The results are out and I am happy and joyful to say that I have passed the first terms test in grade eight. I have come out first in all of the grade eights in the school. I am very happy for the last terms results because I have managed to beat even Patson Kaweme. He has been a prize for me. I will open and say that I have always dreamed of being him since grade four, he has been a target for me because since grade four he has been coming out first place in all the final examinations. But now I have scooped the first position and thats why I am very happy. Now i can see that I am going somewhere. Thank God the almighty for this blessing. It is a blessing to me because it is my first time to be in the first position at school.

Thank you for your support.

Teddy
Dear Mama Linda,

How are you, your family, and friends? As for me I am fine. I just want you to know that I am happy that you are also happy for me with the activities that I am partaking in at school. By the way, on Friday I also will be having athletics taking place at Munali Secondary School and if I qualify then I will be participating at a higher level in the olympics. I have hope and faith that I will make it and I will do it.

I am also a prefect at school. I am happy that out of all the pupils starting at grades 1-9, I am one of those pup is who have been chosen to be a prefect at school. I jumped when they called my name the first time to be a prefect. That is a very good reward for me Mama.

I thank you for those wonderful advice which you said- its me to study hard. Thats true after all. It is me to sit for the examination. These words are very powerful, encouraging and memorable words. For the great word we don't forget but we keep it in our minds and we walk with it through life experiences. That's why you are called "Mama Linda" for those advices are only given by mothers to their children to live a straight life and to focus in whatever they are doing. Thank you Mama!

With love,

Teddy Nosiku
Dear Bobby and Heather,

How are you, your family and your friends? As for me I am fine. I am happy that you are married and you have made a family together. But always remember that we come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. Continue loving each other in good and bad situations until eternity.

By the way, thank you that you also came on board to support me for my school fund. Thank you very much!

I thank you that you also appreciated my writing but I want you to know that I am very happy because to be a good writer it is not how you write, but how people appreciate your writing. Then you are a good writer indeed. I may not be good but if you appreciate and love it then I am a good writing in your eyes and my self indeed thanks you very much.

Much love,

Teddy Nosiku
Dear Shannon,

How are you, your family, and your school in large? As for me, I am fine and I am happy that you also came on board to support me for my school fund. I want you to know that I am very happy and grateful.

They say that a way to control a cow to walk in a straight path is through a whip. And a weapon used to control a child is through education. You have just given me a weapon in life, and that is my education. School is a better weapon that makes someone not to cry but to make someone to become a better person in the future. Thank you very much because you just saved me from bad activities that can effect my life and many more lives from things like drugs and drinking. That is what is affecting young children in Zambia and many more other countries.

As for Chikumbuso, we are very grand and will be always grateful for the fundraising from your school for Chikumbuso. We really appreciate. I want you to know that for any contribution that you are making towards my education, makes a lot of difference in my life and the lives of many more children at Chikumbuso. Thank you very much!

Teddy,

So good to hear from you and to hear that you are doing so well in school! Yeah for you and for studying hard. We can all help pay for your schooling but ultimately it is you who has to sit down and study. Sounds like you are doing a great job of it. I am also happy to hear that you are playing football. It is good to have a balance in life! And you are right this way you get to meet lots of other students from other schools.. that is always good.
I hope to get to Zambia soon and I will make sure to see you when I do.
Greet everyone there for me and keep reminding them that school is their future and it is important to keep your sponsors up to date with what is going on in your life. It makes it fun for us!
Dear Mama Linda and Amy,

How are you? How is your family and Happy New Year! As for me and my family, we are ver fine. I just want to inform you that I have made it to grade eight. I just passed my grade seven examinations and you know what is the most exciting news? I passed number two in grade 7 with 791 marks.

So this new year for me has come with grew happiness and blessings. You know it's a blessing for one like me to pas the examinations when others have failed. It is a blessing for one like me to come out second when others have come out lasts. It's not that I am happy when others have failed or come out last, no, but the most important thing of all is that I am still alive and you too. In this newly 2014 it's a great blessing, thank God. I want to thank you for your support towards me for I have nothing to repay you back, but only the words thank you. That's enough for me because I know the Lord will add the blessings and also maybe give you a long life to live in this world. For only you who have made me who I am, thank you. I love my school very much because I know that's where the doors of my future open and you are the keys to those doors. Because if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be in school, if it wasn't for you I couldn't sit here and write this letter. So please, I am asking you not to stop because my further rises in your hands. Just like I said, you are the keys to my future doors and you are opening them one by one. You are the way to my schooling so please don't lead me alone because if you do, I will be lost. I will promise you that I will study very hard so that I can do better than I did this time. I want to be first!

Here is some news of what is happening in our country. In school, the secondary level curriculum has been changed. Last years former grade 8 pupils used to learn about geography, civics, and history, but now they have put all of these subjects into one called social studies. They are making a lot of changes to the curriculum. Also in our school we will be having inter school sports. I am on the football team and the athletics team for my school and i am very happy because I will be meeting with different people from different schools!

Thank you for your support. May our great Lord bless you.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
