About

Aaron lives with both his parents, his siblings and his one nephew. He now lives in Kabanana, just outside Ng'obe in a house made of mud with an iron roof. His house does not have electricity, or running water. Aaron helps out by fetching two 20 liter jugs of water for drinking, and three jugs for bathing and washing every morning, including washing plates and sweeping. His mother sells tomatoes and onions in the compound, but she is the only one bringing in money to their family. Aaron likes to read and play soccer in his spare time. Aaron likes school very much because learning new things brings him joy. He was inspired to become a doctor when his mom got very sick with Malaria, so he studies hard so he can one day help sick people. Aaron says that having a sponsor gives him hope that he will be able to finish school and reach his dreams. Aaron is third in his class at Ng'ombe PTA School.

Hi Aaron!

It has been a while since I have written you. I'm glad to hear that your mother is doing better! The weather in Spain is getting cooler, as it is now Autum. Happy almost birthday! What will you do to celebrate? How old are you turning?

How do you like the Hunger Games? I read that book, and really liked it! I am now reading the Maze Runner, and it is very good. I think you would like it!

Things in Spain are good - I am teaching High School during the day, and then I teach younger kids in the afternoon. I am currently in the United States because my brother got married last Sunday! It was so nice to be with my family. I don't think I will be home for Christmas, so I have to enjoy the time I have now. I will be going back to Spain on Sunday.

I hope all is well with you and that you keep working hard!

Love,

Chrissy
Dear Sponsors,

Hi! Como estas? Chrissy- how is the job going? To me here, I'm doing fine. My mother who was very sick is fortunately recovering. How is the weather in Spain? Is it as in the US? Here is sunny and its very hot. I was born under this month so my birthday will be on 22nd of October.

Concerning school, this term is full of breaks. the grade sevens are having their government exams which will start on the 13th of October. They will be writing for one week which means we are going to give them a change until they finished writing their exams. After the grade sevens, it will be the grade nine's and we will break for two weeks. During these breaks I will be going through what I have learned and studying. But at the moment we are having a team reading book with Carly. We are reading The Hunger Games. Last month we read A Long Walk To Water. During the August holiday I read Gifted Hands by Doctor Ben Carson.

Thank you for everything. My regards to all of you, and to all the people you meet in Spain, Chrissy.

Hi! How are you doing with your family? School has just opened last week on Monday, and I even collected the test results last Friday. I did very well in all the subjects. So we have just the rest of this term to remain before we upgrade. By December the term will end and in January I will be in the next level.

What are you doing now? Anything new?

Thank you very much for your support, God bless you.

Hi Clarence!

It was nice sharing something with you although it was just for some hours. You are truly a great man, your kindness, love and friendly words to people. Thank you very much for the wonderful storybook of “Ben Carson”. As far as I read although I haven’t finished the book. The story gave me such a passion and I’m impressed with the life of Dr. Ben. I even felt like being a very special surgery doctor so that I will be helping many people.

Wishing you all the best in life.

From Aaron

Dear Christian

Hi.How are you and your family? As for me I am doing we are doing great, How is work? In which town or city are you living?
I have head about the new king, who was put on the throne. I did not know that in Spain there is a king ruling. So do you mind if you would share about this new king ruling? Does it mean there is no president? Is Spain a monarch? Or the king is just ruling a certain area or province? Do they vote for the king? Or may be it is by succession through families?

So school is going well. Very soon this same month we are doing to write the end of term two test. And by August next month, school will be closed for another one month, And will be opened in September.

And the meaning of the words you asked me to tell you;

I love you-------ndikukonda
I miss you-------ndakuyewa
I hate you-------nikuzonda

Thank you very much.May the lord bless you and your family.

Dear Sponsors,

Hi! How are you and your families? As for me I'm doing just fine with my family. School has just opened on the 12th of May. And the results are out. I did well and I have beat all the grade 8A's. There were two classes but now there are three classes, A, B, and C. Class C comes in the afternoon while A and B come in the morning.

I went to Chisamba during the holiday to see and be with my gran. She is thanking you and she wises you all the bits in your lives.

Concerning here in Zambia, the season is so cold. You just need to wear warm clothes and I like this season. Thank you for your support. May God continue blessing you and your families.

From Aaron

Ps I will write to answer your questions Chrissy and Patrick.
Hi Aaron!

How are you doing? I am so glad to hear you are a prefect, what wonderful news! I'm sure you are very good at being a prefect because you are so responsible. You are absolutely right, we are all equal. and your classmates are so very lucky to have you to lead by example.

I'm glad to hear you are still enjoying school! In the United States, we usually have school from September to June, with a few breaks for Christmas and Easter in between. Did your new school term begin in January? When will it end?

Things are going good here in Spain. School will end in June, but I will only work until May. I am currently searching for a summer job. Next year I will stay in Spain and teach English again. I miss my family and my friends a lot, but I hope I will be at home in the United States for the month of September.

My Spanish has improved a lot, but I am also still learning. I feel that every day I am getting better :) Here are the phrases you wanted to know how to say:

How are you? --- Qué tal? or Cómo estás?
I miss you ---- Te echo de menos
I love you ---- Te quiero or Te amo
Good morning --- Buenos días

Can you teach me how to say those phrases in Nyanja?

I hope everything is going well and I hope to hear from you soon!

Love,
Chrissy
Hi Aaron,
I'm glad to hear you're doing well in school! Keep up the amazing work! Are there any subjects that are standing out as more interesting than others for you?
As for myself I'm doing well! My families are all well and good. Just celebrated one of my three sisters birthdays, which came after my nieces birthday. I've got a whole lot of birthdays concentrated in these last few months.
I'm sure your grandma will be very glad to see you! How often do you get to see her? I was away from my grandma for 6 years and we both missed each other a lot. Now that I'm living back where I grew up, I try to see my grandma as much as possible, which is turning out to be a lot :)

I hope you have very safe journeys Aaron!

Patrick
Dear Sponsors,
Hi! How are you and your families? As for me I'm doing so fine. School is also going well. We have just finished writing the end of term one tests. So we are closing school tomorrow on the 11th. We are going to open school next month. It will be just a one month holiday. During the holiday I'm planning to go and visit my relatives, especially my grandmother. She stays in Chisamba which is in the central province of Zambia. I will only stay there for about a week. I know my grandma will be very happy to see me. She loves me so much and I love her so much. I will travel in a train getting there, and will return on a bus.

My family appreciates so much for the support you are offering me.

Thank you,

Aaron
Dear Carol, Patrick and Shannon,

How are you and your lovely families? How is work going? As for me, I am doing just fine. School is going well. We are doing lot's of things at school but I'm glad that I don't have time to play. I only chat with my family when I get home. My free time is usually on Sunday, and that is the day when I wash my clothes. Saturday I go to church to worship. What is new with you all right now?

Thank you for your support, I truly appreciate a lot. May our creator God richly bless you and your family.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

The experience that I had early in life was to score good marks in my class, whereby I got good grades which encouraged me to study hard in class. The difficult experience that occurred in my life was an accident on my way back home. I learnt that I should not play again in bad areas. In my life I am proud of myself. I was getting low marks in class but now I have managed to improve a lot. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life is to play football. It exercises my body regularly and hence strengthens my body system. My dream is to become a mechanical engineer. The best way to reach it is through studying hard in school, in physics, mathematics and chemistry. If I had power in my country, I would change the education system of the country so that it helps graduates to depend more on self-employment.
