Hello Susan!

It's always delightful to hear from you. I am glad you've liked the career series. Has it helped you think about what career you might like? If so, what would you like to do?

Today it is raining in Maryland and is quite cold. October is usually when it begins to get colder. Last weekend was beautiful. My husband and I went on a bike ride near the Chesapeake Bay. We saw sailboats out on the water. it was quite beautiful.

Our cases of the coronavirus continues to grow in the U.S. It's very bad. Sadly our president has not done a good job managing the pandemic. Soon we will have a presidential election. I'll be voting on November 3rd! It's always important to have a voice and vote.

Take care, and keep reading!

Hi Sharon,
Hope you are fine. Am doing well in my studies still focusing on the Nelson Mandela's quote that education is the best weapon that one can use to change the world.I am participating in the classes and they have been helping me. The career session has helped me to understand my career well .I have enjoyed so much.I would like to visit Vermont but I do not know how I can join you. I am still borrowing books in order to make myself busy. I hope that the pandemic of corona has started to reduce in your country. Am still praying to God in order to have mercy on us. May God protect you. Thank you for your support that you have been giving me. I always appreciate your support.

Hello Susan!

It must be hard not going to school. I heard that the TSF students have been doing some on-line classes at the LRC. Have you been able to participate? I hope they have been helpful. Have you liked the Mentor Series? This week I hear there will be a career session. Once the sessions are done, I would be interested to hear if they were helpful.

Right now I am in the state of Vermont. You should look it up on the map of the US. It's in the Northeast of the US. Right now the leaves are changing colors. They were green and are now turning orange, red, and yellow. It's such a treat to see! It's very hilly here too. I like running in the morning, but it's hard because of the hills. Last weekend we drove and saw some covered bridges that were built in the 1800s. I've attached a picture of me and my mom at one of them.

I hope you are borrowing books from the KC library and reading. Reading will help you in school, and if you find the right story, it can be fun. I know it's hard to read in English since it's not your first language. I admire how so many Kenyans speak three languages.

Take good care.

Sharon

Habari Susan!

Thank you for writing. I am so very sorry to hear about your mother. I am sure you miss her a great deal. She would be proud to know that you are a Kenya Connect TSF student and that you are working hard in school. The pandemic is so hard. I heard that schools are closed until January. I hope you take this time to borrow books from the Kenya Connect library. The more you read and write, the easier it will become and the more it will help you in school. I read every day. I love reading books and I've learned so much through the stories I read. I read about people all over the world as well as information books. Whenever I go somewhere I bring a book in case I have time to read. It is the gateway to so much! I also encourage you to keep a journal. You can write a little bit each day about what you are doing. It will help with writing in school and on exams.

I live in Maryland. It's the summer now and is quite hot. Luckily we had rain last night which watered our vegetable garden. We are growing tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and herbs. The garden is growing really well this year.

Take care, Susan. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. The future is through education. Keep reading and writing so you'll be prepared for January. Sharon
Hello friends
Am taking this opportunity to thank God for the far he has brought me. I thank you for your help that you have given me. I thank you for paying my school fees. How hard could it be if you didn't pay my school fees?I only thank the Lord for sending you . You are just like an angel to me. I am still doing my effort to do my best in my studies. Hope you are going to pray for me to achieve my goal. I still think there are many disasters that needs prayers. One of them is that I lost my mother. This is the most disaster that is affecting me most. Am still praying to God for courage.I know that soon I
will be okey.May God bless you and your family all days of your life.Am also hoping that the covid-19 will soon be over. This will be a very long time without going to school. I miss school.

I have experience planting vegetables because my parents do that. Also, we have a garden at our home. Therefore, that is experience I have had in life. Apart from that experience, I also had a difficult experience when I failed my geography exam. That enabled me to learn how to cooperate with other students. I was so proud of myself when I performed well in my national exam. The memorable and happiest moment in my life will be when I reach my dream of being pilot. I will be so happy. My biggest dream is to be a pilot. I will get there through studying hard in physics, geography, and mathematics. After reaching my dream, I will help my parents to modify their cultivation system and to become professional farmers. From there they can expand the area of cultivation into a large plantation. Once I get a chance to have the power to change my country, I will build many airports in each region and some districts. This will help in the flexibility of transportation in my country.

Notable experiences in my life are, first, passing my standard seven examination and, second, entering secondary school. My most difficult experience was when I started to learn English. I have learned that if you want to do something, you have to work hard. I felt proud was when I entered secondary school. My most memorable and happiest thoughts are from when I celebrated at my birthday party. My dream is to be an electrical engineer. I will get there through studying hard and doing well in science subjects. If I had the power to change my country, I would like to improve the electricity supply especially in rural areas because there are shortages of electric power.

Experiences in my life are when I failed my examination during primary education and also when my parents failed to pay food for me. My difficult experiences in my life are when my parents have insufficient enough money to pay for all my basic needs at school such as food and other school contributions. The thing that makes me feel so proud of myself is when I succeeded in joining O-level education. This makes me feel that I will, I must, I can do everything. The most memorable and happiest thing in my life will be to reach my dream of being a doctor general so as I can help other people in society. My future dream is to be a GOOD surgical doctor. After me reaching my dream, I will give back help to my society and family, but also to WEF. I need to work hard upon reaching my dream in my life. Once I get chance to have power of changing anything in country, I will improve the education system by converting science subjects from theory to practical. In most of our schools, they teach science subjects mostly theoretically. I will start from there because as we know education is the key to every success in our people.
